SB Rail awarded new seven-year contract by Network Rail
16th April 2018SB Rail, the joint venture partnership between Swietelsky Baugesellschaft m.b.H. and Babcock International Group, has been awarded a seven-year contract by Network Rail for the supply, operation and maintenance of a fleet of specialised on-track machines.
The projected value of the new contract is in excess of £130m and will see SB Rail deliver tamping, dynamic track stabilising and ballast distribution and profiling work on Network Rail’s London North Eastern, London North Western and Scotland Routes.
SB Rail has continued to make significant investments in the latest equipment and technology and will introduce a further four state of the art tamping and dynamic track stabilising machines over the course of this contract.
In statements on the new award, Craig Goldie, Managing Director Swietelsky said:
