Kirow Crane Team Maintanance Supervisor | Guide Bridge/Various

We now have a fantastic opportunity within the company for the position of Maintainer Supervisor within our Kirow Crane Department. The cranes are used by various railway clients on a nationwide basis which will require the successful candidate to demonstrate a willingness to lodge and travel when required. The home reporting location and administration hub for the crane department is based at our depot at Guide Bridge, Manchester. The successful candidate for the role of Maintainer Supervisor will be highly motivated. You will Assist the Crane Manager in the effective management, deployment, operation and servicing of the Kirow Rail Crane fleet.

You will have experience of supervising and supporting the maintaining, servicing and repairing Kirow Rail Cranes or a background in rolling stock engineering with a bias towards 24v electrical fault diagnosis and repairs being preferred.

The successful candidate will Coordinate and plan scheduled service intervals using and updating the Annual Maintenance Plan following the criteria of current standards and VMI documentation. Produce, update and amend staff rosters to ensure maintenance, servicing and repairs along with operating requirements for the Kirow Rail Cranes. Supervise, support and liaise with crane department staff in all other day to day duties.

Essential qualities for the successful candidate include:

  • Work in unison with other department supervisors, offering support and advice.
  • Check and certify staff timesheets including validity of HGD and overtime claims.
  • Carry out periodical staff “fit for duty” checks, company vehicle inspections and SQE inspections le and applicable maintenance schedules.
  • Monitor critical spare part levels and consumable stock items and create replenishment Purchase Orders through procurement requests.
  • Ability to coordinate and contribute to fault finding and repair of Kirow Rail Crane fleet before, during and after machine shifts within permissible working hours.
  • Pre-plan appropriate facility availability for machine maintenance, overhaul, major component replacement and outstanding repairs in authorised maintenance locations
  • Perform “On Call” duties and support by telephone or site attendance in conjunction with other department supervisors and staff.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Full UK Driver’s license.
  • Operate Kirow Rail Crane for which certificate of competency has been obtained (after training if required).
  • Comply with all Rules and Regulations and observe all local conditions of the Railway
  • Work away from home to meet contractual and training requirements as required.
  • Knowledge of Safety Critical work regulations.
